Language used in Bella

Real life story in Bella magazine
  • Lynette uses the personal pronouns "I" to convey that it was her idea to spend all of the money on Christmas day.
  • Within the text, the tone is set that she doesn't regret spending the tax payers money. This can be supported by a quote stating "When I have family there will be no expense spared at Christmas".
  • When reading the article it sounds like a list of what she did with the money and how she got it.
  • The language is not complex as it has been written by the public member, rather than a journalist.
