The front cover of the magazines have certain features to draw in their target audience.
- Because it is the first thing the audience sees, it has to be eye-catching, by using bold colours, large fonts, shocking photographs and lastly catchy titles/subtitles.
- It keeps the information on the front cover to a minimal requirement by just having catchy lines to entice people to read on throughout the magazine.
- The magazine needs to be preferred over its competition. This is where the whole layout comes about and how they can put across who has the "best" or "juiciest" news.
When looking at the front cover it seems to stick to the primary colours red, blue and yellow which could be because they want it to stand out. The company tend to put a lot of celebrity faces on the front cover to draw in an audience that likes to know about the gossip happening in their lives. However the structure within the magazine, it sticks to what is uncovered on the frontcover, but also other topics that maybe unexpected, like real life (serious) situations.
They draw their audience in by using
- prizes
- gifts
- gossip
- features etc.
The whole layout seems to be cramped onto the page, as if they are trying to fit everything on, without missing out subjects that may entice the expected audience.
